The Manchester International Festival, which runs from July 2 – 19, is the world’s first festival of original new work. Featuring a number of newly-commissioned artists from all over the world, this festival is a must-see for anyone who loves the arts. The Manchester Jazz Festival (July 24 – August 1) is another city event that’s not to be missed, while the 24:7 Theatre Festival will host a colourful celebration of new and original performance works in non-theatre venues throughout Manchester city.

Among the most anticipated is “State of the Art: New York”, which brings to Manchester the latest contemporary art from the Big Apple. One highlight of the top shopping spots in Manchester is the Trafford Centre, the sixth largest shopping centre in the United Kingdom, which has three floors of shops and around 280 stores to choose from, shopaholics will feel right at home.
