My neighbor told me a few days ago that her mother and her aunt run a furniture restoration store in Queens, and that business is good these days because they are the only ones in their town who can do what they do. I’m into the feel-good feel that only comes with the personalized touch.  It’s not a feeling you’ll get if you buy from the local chair dealer, who’s selling his chairs as fast as he can get them out the shop door.
